CULTURAL SOUL
LATIN AMERICAN WATCHES
We believe in pushing the boundaries of watchmaking and see the opportunity not only to offer good design, but also to present an innovative piece of cultural heritage. Our watches use wood and copper as complementary materials to stainless steel and bronze.
Today we are launching the ETHNIC LINE 2025, a collection of three models inspired by the pre-Columbian cultures of the current Chilean territory:

SHAMANIC DESIGN
DIAGUITA
The Diaguita pays homage to the Diaguita, a pre-Columbian people of central-northern Chile. The dial is made of maple wood and metal, with silkscreen applications that reflect the zoomorphic art applied in the craftsmanship of this native ethnic group of our country, with its geometry and characteristic colors. It also includes the date function, using a movement of the Japanese brand Miyota Citizen. Water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM), it is suitable for bathing and swimming. The print is based on ceramic art found in the Elqui Valley area in the north of the country. This feline-style pattern is believed to represent a shamanic spirit seeking guidance.

STRENGTH AND ENERGY
NEWEN
With a renewed design, the Newen incorporates a stainless steel case with “Gun Metal” platinum plating, a curved crystal with double curvature and a high resistance Italian lambskin strap. The design pays homage to the Mapuche people of southern Chile. The dial is made of bamboo wood and metal, with silkscreen applications that evoke the Mapuche looms with their characteristic geometry and colors. It also includes a date function, powered by a Japanese Miyota Citizen engine. Water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM), ideal for bathing or swimming.
The design of the sphere is related to the looms used in the Mapuche culture, an ancient tradition that has been preserved to this day.

INITIATORY RITE
HAIN
The design of the Hain pays homage to the pre-Columbian Selknam people of southern Chile. The case is stainless steel with black sandblasted platinum plating. The dial, made of walnut and metal, features serigraphs representing one of the participants in the “Hain” ceremony and its characteristic geometry and colors. It also features a date function, powered by a Japanese Miyota Citizen engine. Water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM), it is suitable for swimming and bathing.
The design of the dial shows one of the spirits called “Matan” or “The Great Dancer”.

A SIZE THAT LOOKS
BOX
Measuring 40 mm in diameter and made of anti-corrosive 316L stainless steel, the case features a brushed style with polished bezels on the watch itself. It attracts attention with an understated style.

The dials are crafted in three different woods: maple, bamboo and sandalwood. Their three-layer structure combines the bottom metal base with the tribal patterns and date function. The middle layer is the wood layer with character printing, and the third top layer is the slanted metal hour markers.

Ethnic watches are powered by the Miyota 2115 movement. Miyota is one of the most respected and important movement companies in the world. The 2115 offers an excellent balance between price and reliability.

We chose a “wood” style paper packaging with the three tribes design. This will keep the watch safe and is easy to transport and ship.

Castor Watches was born out of my desire for independence, professional growth and personal fulfillment. This journey began in 2015 in Valparaiso, Chile, when I seized the opportunity for entrepreneurship. Driven by my passion for watches, I was inspired to create a unique line that not only stood out for its innovative use of materials such as wood and copper, but also embodied a deep cultural identity. The inaugural collection, the Étnica line, was inspired by the Diaguita, Mapuche and Selknam cultures, reflecting the rich graphic heritage, ceremonial practices and traditional dress of these indigenous peoples.
Over the years, Castor Watches has expanded its catalog and now features more than 20 original designs that celebrate and represent our rich cultural heritage.
